Christina was born in New Brunswick, Canada; and now resides in the
Ottawa area. She made her home in Kars near the Rideau
River and she still maintains a strong connection to the East
Coast. She was brought up to recognize and appreciate the diversity and
beauty of nature during many walks and solitary moments in the forest and
portaging through Algonquin Park.
After exploring different medias and creative outlets, painting has become the most fulfilling to express her love of nature and the places she has been. Although she has been mostly self-taught, she also attended the Ottawa School of Art in 2005. This helped her refine her technique, renew her ideas and strengthen her motivation. The medium she uses is acrylic. Christina says "I am always trying new techniques and enjoy experimenting and challenging myself."
Christina has enjoyed many local showcases of her work including being one of the featured artists at the CLSG (Canadian Leukemia Studies Group) Charity Gala in 2005 and 2008, The Discovery Tour in 2005, 2009 and 2010. She currently has her work on display at the Homestead Gallery in Kemptville ( http://www.homestead-gallery.com ). She also is a member of the Manotick Art Association and is part of their annual spring art show "A Brush with Art".
Christina's work exemplifies places she has been to, and loves and longs for. She has also creatively displays simplified shapes, space, and light from the nature she loves so much.
